On Thursday 4th November, our clients at Circle VHA gathered to celebrate the launch of their Tenant Engagement Strategy & Strategy 24 at the Temple Bar Gallery and Studio in Dublin. In attendance were Circle board members, staff, and tenants, in addition to numerous external contributors who helped organise the event and celebrate this new launch for Circle.
The event began with a few words from Circle CEO, John Hannigan, who gave us a deep insight to his emotions on the day and excitement and optimism for Circle’s future following the launch of their new strategies which have come to life since first being touched upon in November 2020. Circle Chair, Chris Ellison also gave a speech praising event organisers, tenants, and other contributors for making the day and the strategies possible. After a short break, event attendees brought some intriguing and thought-provoking questions to the Circle panel.
On the panel were Circle tenants, April and Gerry who voluntarily became members of Circle’s Tenant Advisory Group (TAG) in the effort to create a better relationship between tenants and board members and ultimately help provide better social housing and overall happiness. Other panel members included Circle Customer Service and Repairs Manager, Colm Barnes, and Supporting Communities Tenant Participation and Community Development Officer, Siobhan O’Neill. Attendees gave personal comments on the strategy and the event on the day, all of which were positive and received well by the panel.
The event was a huge success and will hopefully create an interest for more tenants to get involved with a programme designed to benefit them and their homes. The launch of TES and Strategy 24 will hopefully set a precedent for other housing bodies during the housing crisis in Ireland.
